Many street rodders have not used a shifter column because the designs were big, bulky and clumsy - almost 10 inches from the dash to the wheel. Why... because when you're building columns out of recycled cores, your limited to size and quantity of a 20+ yar old core! So take another look at using a column shift in your rod. Give yourself more leg room and a better seat location.
